There are several excellent petitions and proclamations supporting the Golden Rule as a fundamental principle of living, among them Karen Armstrong’s Charter for Compassion and my own Golden Rule Resolution. I strongly encourage you to add your name to them if you haven’t already.
Sometimes, however, what we need is a statement that’s simple, concise, and easy to commit to. No preamble, no grand explanations. In response to that, I offer the Consider the Other Pledge. I hope that you’ll consider signing it; and more, that you’ll encourage others to as well. |
